Agape Groups
Minutes from 4/27/08 meeting.
Attended: Gayla Barrick, Barb Eickele, Tracy Freeman, Jim Irragi, and Tim Robinson
- Frequency of meeting Discussed the groups meeting every week verses every other week. There was general agreement that probably every other week would work best.
- Teens We discussed the importance of having the teens participate in the groups with everyone else and agreed that it is not their jobs to just be the babysitters.
- Format Everyone liked the format of meeting in a general group for 30-45 minutes, then break out into men’s groups, women’s groups, and a children’s group.
- Group Formation Talked about assigning groups verses people picking their group based on day of the week that the group would meet. (Assign groups based on where they live geographically, which day they could meet, etc.)
- Kid Boxes This would be a box of kid toys and movies that could easily be transported to a non-kid home so that more people would feel more comfortable opening their homes to kids.
- Survey Will develop a congregational survey to distribute asking for feedback on preferences for the groups and also for leaders and host homes. Perhaps this should be combined with the Congregational Involvement survey?
